Renewable diesel made from waste oils and fats. Meets EN 15940 and runs in most modern diesel engines with no modification at all.

A different molecule, not a different machine

HVO stands for hydrotreated vegetable oil, which undersells it. Used cooking oil and waste animal fats are reacted with hydrogen until what comes out is a paraffinic hydrocarbon almost indistinguishable from fossil diesel — cleaner, in fact, since it contains virtually no sulphur or aromatics.

It stores better than the fuel it replaces — no water absorption, no microbial growth, a shelf life measured in years rather than months — which matters if you run standby generators or seasonal equipment.

Common questions

Do I need to modify my trucks?
In most cases, no. Almost every major European truck manufacturer approves EN 15940 fuel for its current engines. Check your engine’s approval list — we can help you read it — and confirm with your OEM before you switch.
Can I blend rather than switch completely?
Yes, and most customers start that way. HVO and fossil diesel are miscible in any ratio, so you can move from a partial blend to HVO100 as budget and confidence allow — no tank cleaning required between steps.
How does HVO compare with biomethane on price?
Per unit of energy, HVO is usually the more expensive of the two, because the feedstock pool is tighter. Where you have a gas connection or an LNG fleet, biomethane is normally the cheaper decarbonisation route. Where you run diesel engines, HVO is the one that needs no capital spend at all. We will tell you honestly which applies to you.
